Hi

I loved the old "Art Deco" style Ui but now G&K has this new Ui that honestly is not that great...

Anyway of using the old UI while playing with G&K ?

Thanks a lot

I would also like to know this. I really loved that art deco look with its clean modernism and lovely gold Futura everywhere and the statue of Atlas on the title screen etc. Everything had a really nice and coherent aesthetic.

But now Atlas has been replaced by some merchant dude who looks like he does most of his trades deep in the Uncanny Valley, and while some of the more baroque UI looks okay and still sort of fits, those twirly leaves around the columns in the menus really don't do it for me.

Even just a mod to change that awful title screen back would be fantastic, but I can't find anything on here or on the steam workshop thing.

It has already been discussed. Unfortunately so far I haven't heard of a way to bring the art deco back.

I liked the old UI well enough, even though it really didn't make sense to have such a clean and stylish UI when your civ is in the Ancient Era, but the new baroque stuff really does feel out of place.

I honestly did not notice a difference in the UI after God and King, I'm not sure if I'm blind or it really isnt that big of a deal. Whats with people hating change. "OMG, this new stuff is new, my eyes burn!"

It's not about hating what's new, it's just that Civ V vanilla had a really fantastic aesthetic consistency across all its elements, and I personally think some of the G&K UI elements sacrifice that consistency a little for newness-for-the-sake-of-newness. Plus the old style was all gorgeous art deco which I have a bit of a thing for. The new "baroque deco" look actually still fits surprisingly well for the most part, but there's a few bits that are just...out of place.

But mostly, that merchant guy is just creepy and awful looking and he bugs the hell out of me.
