I used to play the original Civ I game on PC several years ago, but lost my PC to my ex (commonlaw wife is what they called her).
Now I'm down to a PSX given to me by a friend [and my not so trusty Atari 2600 (she didn't want that (?) hehe]

But down to my Civ2 problem, I recently recieved my Civ2 game from a friend that said it was too scratched up to play.

*NOTE* - Plain white (rub small amount between fingers to make sure not gritty) toothpaste will 'polish' (most) CD's,DVD's,etc and the scratches will be polished and usually work as new.

OK- back to my problem again, I am once addicted to my Civ game, but I have no instruction manual.
Is there anywhere online (I've tried searching myself to no avail) where I can find the prerequisites of the technological Advances?

Another problem, due to losing my PC (and other financial problems) I am 'making do' with a webtv/msntv so I can't download Adobe, Acrobat or any of that, just plain old friggin HTML.

Please help me if you can

Well if you can view .jpg images then you can use the civ 2 poster located on this site http://www.civfanatics.com/civ2poster.shtml , not sure if nethog's 1 page tech tree is in adobe format or not but if you go down to your local library you should be able to print a copy of Nethog's to keep handy.

EDIT: Damn I hate when I do that, teach me not to check my own links.

Thanks for the help, I clicked on your link but it said 'publisher couldn't find the requested page' (?)

I work very long hours (6-10's) and the libraries here are closed by the time I get home from work :( so I'm afraid that's not an option for me and I would rather not have to purchase a guide online, just hoping I can find a free one online somewhere.

Have you tried that link yourself lately, or fo you (or anyone else) know of another?

Cedric got a comma in his link :o

try this

another source for tech info and much more is print out the rules.txt file located in the civ2 directory (its plain text so prints on anything) - from this you can glean a lot of useful info ...
