Its my first ever game and im doing well, itsl like 2003 AD, and i just discovered Advanced flight, but it says the game is going to end in 2050, is there anyway i can stop this and carry on as i want to build da spaceship, not retire, feels like ive wasted my time tbh....

Retiring means only that you will no longer get points. The game is "over" then, so that you have either won or lost. You may continue the game after 2050AD, though. You just won't be getting any points. If you want to finish your spaceship, you can do that by all means, but that won't make you win the game or gain the points.

So if you are only interested in playing the game instead of winning it or gathering points, you don't have to worry about the retirement.

ROFL, when I first read it I thought it said "omfg IM GETTING RETARTED"

Do you mean Retarted as in making something more sour or ******** meaning 'mentally challanged' ? :D ;)

 so did I

Well, this is certainly one of the things that make new players completely mad... "oh, I've been building my civ for X hours and now the game tells me that I'm going to be retired? this is just unfair!"

Then they start playing on Warlord and above... :)
