Once and for all, how do SGLs work?

I know that "Scientific Golden Age" did not work in the initial release. Has this been corrected as of the last patch? I finally got one, and I'm at a point in my game where I probably won't be building another wonder for quite some time, so I'm sitting on this guy...

TeeAhr1, I see you are from the glorious Minnesotan empire, Sabo welcomes you from the great Minneapolis city state as far as I know the SGA still does not work correctly.
they are already working on Civ IV now so maybe it'll work right then, but as far as I know there will be no more patches for Civ III, I guess we just have to wait a couple of years my friend.
