I just reinstalled Civ III after a hard disk disaster. It ran ok. Then I downloaded the 1.29 patch from the Firaxis site and installed it. When I tried to run Civ III I got a message that it couldn't find the CD ROM even though it was still in the D: drive. I opened and closed the drawer and let the autostart try to start CIV III. I get the opening logo, I click on Play Civ III and the error message comes up again!
I've removed and reinstalled twice now, same results.
