In the two screenshots attached you can see:
  • If the trireme is in York, I can't attack the enemy spearman (the red dot appears so I can't move my spearman).
  • If I move the trireme outside of York now I can attack the enemy spearman (it takes me two turns to reach him).

So it seems you can't attack an enemy land unit with a land unit inside one of your cities if a ship is docked at the same city.

Also I've attached the savegame (compressed).

It seems the bug not only happens when ships are in a city. In the screenshot you can see I can't attack the enemy bowman with my warrior. I think it's because I've just train the unit and an archer, which has attacked the same turn, is also in the city. So I'm forced to move the warrior outside the city without attacking any enemy unit.

I decided to play today (haven't played in a couple months. Around 800 BC the Iroquae (sp) declared war. They had a Trireme, a Jaguar and a spearman. I had a garrisoned shortswordsman a trireme and a spearman. they attack my capital, the trireme did 7 damage and the Jaguar did 5 or 6. I attacked the Jaguar with the city, and then I was going to finish off the Jaguar with my garrisoned Swordsman but he wont attack. The attack preview showed up when I hovered over the Jag but he won't attack. My swordsman could move to an empty tile but he just wont attack.

Needless to say, the next turn my city capital was taken.

So am I missing something here? And a trireme doing 7 damage on a city? I don't remember triremes being that good at bombarding cities.

Were the swordsman and spearman stacked in the city? In other-words, did you just complete construction of one of them?

I reported a similar bug weeks ago: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=424161. Could you post the savegame?

Don't think that's a bug.

Yes, I've been thinking about it and you're right. Two land combat units aren't supposed to be in the same tile.

What is a bug is the when you have a ship that have attacked and a land unit in the same city and you can't attack with the land unit.
