Is there a pdf manual out anywhere. Civ V and Beyond Earth had pdf manuals. I am looking for something to do while I wait until midnight...

I can't imagine there'd be much to a manual with the robustness and updatedness of the civlopedia.

I have requested a PDF but it doesn't appear one exists. There is a an in-game Civilopedia, however.

What would you like to know about? I am playing right now and can give you any information you'd like!

Civilopedia is fine for looking things up. But an uploaded manual - if one exists - would be very handy to get a hold of basic concepts (Faith, Tourism, combat etc.) of the game. I played a lot of IV but those things I just mentioned weren't in there or were very different then.

USA here. Game won't unlock for another 10 hours or so, but Steam already allowed me to pre-load the final 500 MB patch, and there is also a 192 Page manual (PDF) that can downloaded.

Happy reading!

Either I am blind or that link to the manual just appeared. I swear it wasn't there earlier.
Thanks!

Thanks, just started reading.

Interesting things from the manual...

If an enemy unit enters a Great Person’s tile, that Great Person is automatically sent back to the user’s territory (the enemy cannot take a Great Person for their own).

Great Prophets are no longer available when starting the game in the Industrial Era or later

Once your religion is founded, all of your cities with Holy Sites will automatically convert to the religion. Any future Holy Sites built will immediately adopt your religion.

But they [City-States] can always declare war on another city-state. The suzerain is not obligated to follow the city-state into war or peace.

The first building in the entertainment complex district (arena) provides amenities to the local city. The next two buildings (zoo and stadium) provide amenities regionally to all city-centers within 6 tiles.

On page 164, talking about Mods, the screenshot shows a bunch of entries. One says "Cold War" and the description is that it is a scenario during the cold war era and combat units are cheaper etc etc. Is this a civ 5 mod that they are using as a placeholder for the screenshot?

There's also TSL Earth Map.

Its more likley to be Mods that the devs have "made" to test the new modding interface. Could be a good insight into what scenarios might be coming though

In today's MP stream they explained they have created three mods included in the base game and available in MP.

An ancient era mod with alternative victories which they played today, a medieval religious war and the Cold War mod.

I don't remember seeing a TSL mod today but Ed has previously said they hope to have some sort of official TSL options.
