Stumbled on a exploit as Persia when Arabia show up.
On my second game as persia (first one lasted like 20 turns past Arabia's birth ;) ) , anyways i'll try to keep this short.

I had 3 cities in arabian lands , but choose "no" on 2 of them (Jerusalem and Arabaya) in the popup, but just one turn before , i made a city on the east side (geehn or something). So i figured ..ok take it! This made the "peace" popup show and we became friends but still at war (because of the other 2 cities i guess) ... at this point the city i gave them made my units move outside the culture area (auto) and leave it without defenders , so i attacked the city and destroyed it ... poof arabia lost all units and was destroyed.

Ok my army was weakened from the units that switched side when arabia was born .. but i consider it a exploit.

* side note
Can Persia actually stand up to Arabia ?
I had 5 War elephants , 5 Horse archers , 4 spearmen (in the area ) before Arabia showed up .. 3 War elephants , 3 horse archers , 2 spearmen after.
Arabia got the units i lost and additionaly had 4 camels , 4 longbowmen and 2 swordsmen. i doubt i would have lasted very long.

To me it seems that after the first game i worked hard to get some war elephants to counter the Camels (8 strength +50% mounted , vs 10 streangth) ... only to hand them to the enemy and ensuring my own destruction.

Well anyways , keep up the good work :)

In another thread we were talking how Persia always destroys Arabia.

I just tried playing as the Arabs and got my ass beat. I start with just like 3 camel archers, which is a pretty lame opening army. I got Ur & Jerusalem to flip, but no units flipped with them, just the empty cities.

meh.

Should be less settlers and more camel archers.

I was playing an old version though, so that may be the issue. But I tried to start off with conquest, and no way is it working for me.

I think most depends on barbs. If they make Persia weak enough then Arabia could win. Sometimes Persia is eliminated even before Arabia joins.

Remember, the situation may change along with the Persian UP. Rhye, is that still going to be changed so that cities near Persia's conquests flip?

this is fixed in next version

That is a good thing.
Persia is VERY strong, they can easily have the top manifactured goods rating with their terrain and overall situation.
I am playing as Persia in my current game, currently at realy Rennasanae and destroying Arabia was very easy. While I am having some money issues, my industrial capacity is so great that I would have to fall far behind on tech for anyone to be able to win a war against me.

hehe i think i should have left the sidenote out of the post.

As i said i only played as Persia a couple times , maybe it get slightly easier if you give Arabia the cities and not start with a war... or if you dont expand so fast into arabian areas. The barbarian threat is a issue but once you keep 2 spearmen in the north its a minor problem (tho when playing as India the Persians got wiped out by the barbarians ).

I hope you all understod the exploit part...
I mean that you can kill of a civilization in the year/turn it's born (give it one minor city and then destroy it on the same turn , killing the civ even tho it has settlers , workers and a huge army ).
