I feel like i have alot of good options. Im going to list a bunch of details to help yall pick my best option. Let me know what other info you need.

Im aztec. Im getting tons of faith through barb farming. Founding on turn 48. Plan to enhance early rather then spread and reform.

Plan to get a fair number of golden ages through war bonus.

Looking at about 8 cities but low initial pops due to anticipated war wariness and city captures pre courthouse.

Cities will have high production but low growth tiles.

Couple things im considering.

Churches and theocratic rule. For the obvious we love king day synergy. But with low pops initially the bonus from wlkd will be mininal.

Mosque And holy law. Mosque will provide needed science and also culture due to my anticipated golden ages as well as decent spread strength that helps increasw my followers. And i plan to have many followers which will boost holy law boosts. Revelation would work also here but i think i like holy law slightly more because the golden age points are too minimal to matter.

Churches and holy law.
CUlture from churches and strong spread boosting my followers for holy law.

Mandirs. Would give my low growth cities some much needed food along with the other yields on pop growth.

Council of elders. If i plan to spread instead of enhance this will give me high yield production to help my cap build a couple wonders as well as much needed early science.

What do yall think i should go for? And let me know any other details you need to make this decision.

Actually might be a decent chamce i can enhance before another civ founds any other religion then mine. So also can offer up what to get in this scenario as well.

If you are warring, what about Orders?

Im on 3.10. Orders give faith and production bonuses plus the morale promotion. My units will all get the morale promotuon with heroic epic and i am already swimming in faith and 1st in production.

Other options:

Divine Inheritance and Mosques - DI for the GA bonuses to holy city and mosques for the bonus culture during GA and bonus science always.

Divine Inheritance and Veneration - DI for the GA bonuses to holy city and some broad flat yields for all cities and bonus culture and gold from all the faith purchases you'll be having with veneration

Are orders and hero worship still overpowered in your patch? If so, take those and rush the enhancer that lets you buy units with faith. Uncontested best combination for a religion.

If that sounds too boring for you then mosques or cathedrals synergize perfectly with the aztec golden age bonus and also tie indirectly to enabling more expansion.

Don't bother with mandirs churches or holy law, food is worthless to an authority civ and faith will be in ample supply once you start annexing cities.

WLTKD synergy is good for the sake of yield porn later in the game but practically speaking will not help you to win the game so I leave you to decide on that one.

COE is good and has great synergy with aztecs, but is still worse than Hero Worship (with the faith purchase enhancer) in the patch I play.

2nd person to mention orders. I dont see it as good. In my version it gives faith when building units. I dont need more faith. And faith purchases give production. 10% of the cost of purchase.

Good call on divine inheritsnce and mosque. I think it may be my top contender.

I actually havnt ever gone holy law so kind of just wanted to see how good it was.

As for hero worship. Maybe its better than im giving it credit for. It gives 100 faith and golden age pointd on city capture scaling with pop. What does this scaling mean? Say for example pop 5 city. How much will i get?
