Pink spot where custom LH should be

I'm trying to play multiplayer Civ4 on a LAN with my custom leader I made. The leaderhead looks fine in singleplayer but when I load a multiplayer game, my leaderhead appears pink. Both the LH and the button for the LH appear pink in every screen from the game screens to the Civilopedia. I have no idea why and I'm wondering if someone has an answer.

I've spent the morning testing it and my LH consistently shows up when I load a single player game but I get a pink box where my LH should be in multiplayer and if I quit multiplayer then I get a pink box in single player too until I quit and reload. So basically I can't get my leaderhead to show up in multiplayer at all. It shows up correctly in hotseat but not in internet or LAN games.

Everything is exact and it happens even if I start a multiplayer game where only I'm playing.

I attached screenshots showing singleplayer and multiplayer. I'd at least like to know if this is a problem with Civ4 or if I did something wrong because it doesn't make sense that it shows up fine one way but not another.

If you're saving it as a mod and not as a custom asset make sure the mod's ini file has MP enabled:

; This mod is only for single player games
SinglePlayerOnly = 0

This shouldn't be the problem, if it was single player only it shouldn't even alow you to try and start an MP game with the mod enabled. But I don't have a clue so it's a wild guess :)

Everything is in the custom assets folder. Should I be making a .ini to activate it for multiplayer? I have no clue how to do that.

*Edit* I moved my LH files from the CustomAssets folder to the MOD folder and my LH began showing up properly in multiplayer if I load it as a mod. Is there anyway around this where I can make it show up without making it a mod?

Try moving it into the mods folder, the full path would be something like C:\Program Files\Firaxis\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\mods\your mod

Then you'll need an ini file for your mod, you can steal one from another mod that's already included with the game and change it as needed or, I think, omit it entirely and the game will create one for you when you when launched.

I did that but now I can't use the multiplayer saved games from before so I'm hoping there's a non-mod solution.

I have encountered the pink problem when trying to add custom graphics...It seems to be a further "bug" with the pathing for the My Documents folders...

I got rid of the problem by using the MODs folder in the main game...

Unfortunately I do not know of another soultion.

Sorry.
