Pirates of the Caribbean

Ok, finally got it working!!! Man, that was frustrating. Anyway, couple of questions. I tried this out in multiplayer and it works ok.
-But what is the purpose of treasure? It can't move, you can capture it but you can't load it onto a unit. It doesn't give any points. It just sits there. Or am I doing something wrong?
-The pirates don't have a chance in multiplayer if everybody gangs up on them. The Eurpoean powers have 184 units while the pirates only have 27 units. And those 27 units aren't uber units. Plus the Eurpean powers have ships so they can safely traverse the waters and get the pirate cities.
-What is the purpose of this scenario? Is it to wrack up 10k points before the 250 turns?
This does look really cool with the new units and tech tree. Very impressive. But just want some clarification on a few of those questions.

The treasure is sort of the princess. Maybe I should have it loadable onto ships. As for the purpose, it is meant as a challenge. It is also not designed for multiplayer like I said so it wasn't intended for everyone to gang up against the pirates. Also, the pirates have ships too, so I'm not sure what the problem is there.

I think either you misunderstood me or I didn't make myself clear. First of all, this scenario is great! I can tell a lot of time and effort went into it and I have enjoyed playing it. My two gripes are:
1. It's not good for multiplayer. I enjoying playing multiplayer so that is what I look for in a scenario. I understand you didn't design it for multiplayer so I can live with that. This will just be one of the scenarios that I play with myself instead of my friends. Because I wanted it to be multiplayer, I would have wanted it balanced between the pirates and the European nations. By giving the pirates lots and lots of ships then they would be able to contain the European nations to land and rule the seas. Then the pirates could attack cities at will without worrying about enemy reinforcements coming from across the seas (because the pirates own the seas).
2. The treasure doesn't move. I think it would be great if the treasure could be loaded up like in the AoD scenario and transported around. Once you get an enemy treasure back in your capitol you get something like 200 gold or whatever.

Other than that, this is my number one single player scenario right now.

Ok, think I have this game figured out. Here is a screen shot of my victory on emperor level. Both screen shots are from the same game.

Here is the F8 screen just before my victory. I could have won this 5 turns sooner but I switched to monarchy instead of staying in despotism.

I loaded Pirates but when the game tried to load I got an error message saying it couldn't find Treasure.INI file. I looked in the Art/Unit folder and found what looked like the INI file, without any extension. I even tried to rename the file using the INI extension, but no good there either. I wonder if the original zip file has been corrupted somehow? I've tried to download it twice now and got the same error both times.

Clam I Am said:
I looked into what colonies were controlled by who in the area covered by the map, and the Danish controlled the Virgin Islands, but I did not see anything controlled by the Dutch. Perhaps they controlled islands that are not in the map I am using.

Actualy, I looked at your map and between Anguila and Snt Kitts Normaly are 3 Dutch Isles.
Snt Maarten (half of it, the other half is French)
Saba
Snt Eustatius

The last two aren't that big but Snt Maarten should be in, in my humble opinion.

ship building art file........this thing ALWAYS! happens to me. Think you know what to do, clam?

nope, didn't do anything. I just load the scenario into the conquests folder, so that could be the prob....... I'll check.

okay First of all Great scenario
2nd How do you get the black pearl?
3nd Buccaneers should be able amphious assualt.
4th I think you should find better unit graphics to make this a even better scenario
5th I agree on the part of the black Pearl already in the folder

Nvm bout amphiubius assults as soon as i played agian it worked. :goodjob:
Nvm bout the black pearl. But I think the pirates should have the black pearl from the start and it requires a 'dummy resource' to build a resource that does not appear on the map so you ony get one and only one

Hm, cool scenario!

It sounds fun, ill try it later.
Just 1 thing, for the indsustrial age techs you screenshotted in post 1, it doesnt seem to follow a logical order. customs > public executions > cartography. doesnt make sense.

ok i dont really know what im doing. how exactly do i install this scenario to work. when i tried to load it i got an error message saying it was missing some tech things or something. can someone PM me where to put the stuff that comes in the pirates folder cause i want to play this scenario. it looks cool.
