play next game on real world with dyp mod?

@danke: yes. i thought of that one too. we maybe could skip the worldmap and just use the dyp?

I'm not sure what it does. Plus, I just tried installing a mod, and it wouldn't work... (the Balancer mod).

ct:
you should try the mod-installer utility ;-P

and of course you should use a 1.29 compatible mod like dyp ;-)

bill:
the dyp changes many aspects of the game, including MANY new buildings for corruption etc. and new governmental things and new resources (well, i think its almost a total change of the game to the better...).
website: http://civ3.bernskov.com/

it seems to me for the optimal mod for huge and gigantic maps as many corruption corrections are possible (via wonders and buildings)

Installer *AND* mod both didn't work... :(

I was wondering what DYP stood for. I thought it was double your pleasure. It sounds like a good thing for my huge home games, but I'm not too sure about the Demogame.

Greetings from New York! Visit the Big Apple and the rest of Ameri Province on your next vacation.

I've been gaming for a loooong time. In my humble opinion, the DYP mod is the best thing to hit Civ in the last decade. Double Your Pleasure tweaks production numbers, adds a slew of technologies, wonders and new units, and has proven on my machine to be reliably stable.

Last night as I was penning some ideas for the RPG proposal, I dared imagine that the citizenry would vote to try this mod. The availability of many more improvements would make for a real and enjoyable struggle between the various factions that have sprung up around here.

As I wrote to Kal-El, creator of DYP, since playing this mod, plain vanilla seems as boring as, well, vanilla ice cream. The DYP mod adds a series of new twists and nuances which could be combined with Democracy to create a truly unique and memorable game.

I would ask all citizens to visit the bernskov site mentioned above, download the mod and try it for one game. If your not hooked as deeply as Civ first hooked you, I'd be very surprised. I therefore wholeheartedly second the motion that we establish a committee to look into this option.

I also think the dyp will be a new experiance, also as we would no be able to use many standard strateges on this one ;-)
It will put most of us on the same level.
And we have many more improovements and lots of differen ways to go thru the tech tree to choose from...

Any1 caring for a vote or should we skip the idea?
