Me too! That's why it's a shame that the CivONE project has gone quiet as a few of us hoped it would be a accurate Civ1 recreation that could be modified to support more than 7 Civs in a game!

I always wanted this so I could play as Australians in Australia on the world map. Funnily enough I found a mod recently that actually adds the Aussies to the game as well as some native American Civs. I was able to finally play as Australia in Australia lol, still stuck with the 7 player limit of course though.

Hmmm... I was wondering what it would be like to play Australia... I've probably done it back in 1990+ or so..
I was wondering maybe I should try with the english, but in a recent game I ended up on australia and it was horrible lol... no rivers to irrigate anything. Though I believe there might be some tech in civilization 1 that allows to irrigate without rivers, have not figured out yet which tech this is... or maybe some form of goverment or something.
I can remember one game where I build fortresses all along the coastal line... vague memory... can't clearly remember if it was civilization 1 or civilization 3 or another game... I can remember being invaded by marines maybe... so that must have been a civ 3 game or something hehe or perhaps even another game but most likely civ3...
LOL... anybody use fortresses ?! LOL. Build 2 accidental in this current game... no use for it... anyway to destroy a fortress ? Hmm...
Kinda cool idea but heavily under-used by me.
I am having great fun with battleships and carriers and bombers though, exactly what I wanted... after I played lots of world of warships ! LOL =D
