Ok, some of you may remember The Omega's Plaground map. Some of you also requested it to become a scenario/mod. Well, work has been put into making it into a scenario/mod.

Link to off site works.
Link to original map of the playground.

So here is what we have so far.

Units

Since the entire war goes on inside kids minds, the units may not make sense, in graphical upgrades, as in the earlier ages there may be sci fi units with lasers, and guns and stuff, and they then get replaced by people with swords and arrows.

Terrain

Since the units were imaginary in a sense, we are using Warpstorm's Watercolor terrain.

Governments

The governments were heavily modified, and several added. They include school board, Democratic-Dictatorships, and Omegaism.

Civs

The civs are Freak Attack, Boy Union, United Forces, Girls, Staff, Rebs, Horse, Senso, Char, and Galaxy Wars Club.

Technology

The tech tree will be heavily modified, and will reflect school themes (such as the 3Rs, Text books, and 3rd Grade), and the aspects of warfare.

Expected release date: April 1st, 2006

Here is the list of the current units in the mod. There are others still being debated on weather it should be used, but hasn't been intergrated in yet.

Omega, should the teachers get fighters and bombers? They are lacking in both air and sea. (they're powerful enough on land.

No, for Conquests. (you should get Conquests, it's well worth the money)

The Omega said:
No, just make them strong on land. Give them transport helicopters, but no fighters and bombers.

What about the navy?

Yay! I've found the perfect unit for it.

This unit.

Hmm, make the walls Marsh, and I'll make it more sutable for walls. (a block of white)

Desert for the halls, grassland for the classrooms, and plains/hills/whatever-that's-not marsh-or-volcanoes for everything else. Just don't put volcanoes because I don't think you had things erupting in your playground. ;)

EDIT: And, yes, for the teachers.

Well, the problem with that is there's already places that are marches. And yes, we did have volcanoes. Wherever we saw something that was red, we claimed it was a volcanoe. So when they stuck a bunch of red paper into the ground near BI, we started saying that islands had appeared on BI, and that kind off stuck.... ;)

For teachers? Yeah, it be good.

Oh. Well, then how about landmark mountains? Then I will add a wall unit that is basically invincible, and it will stop people from running there.

Okay. I put those mountains with snow on, but I can replace them.

I was just thinking, and I thought of idea. :) Whenever you enter diplomatic talks with a civ, a culture specific music plays. Well, this got Omega thinking, and Omega thinks that we should change that, so that whenever you talk to someone, their theme song plays. Here be list so far:

Back in Black: Freak Attack, Galaxy Wars Club

7 Nation Army: Boy Union, Char Group, and possibly the other Boy flavor civs

Some Girly Song: Grils.

Something: Senso (Still got to ask Chris about this)

Watchyou think?

Hmm, I haven't quite worked out how to do civ specific diplomancy text, or control the music. But good idea, I'll look into it.

Okay, I've got the map done.
For teh actual school area, I made LM desert as teh hallways, LM mountains as walls, LM grassland as classrooms, LM plains as the gym, and LM forest as the principals office. The Playground area might still need more work, but it looks good to me (But I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure how much that counts. ;) )

Attachments

Nice.

I've run into a problem now. The LM Terrain is harder to manipulate than it seems. I've backed up the original terrain, but when I tried to make the LM desert to look like a tiled floor, it started to look really wierd with some blocks colored 1/4th of the way, and others not even colored.
