My new scenario, 'The Battle of Australia' is now ready for playtesting. It covers a Japanese invasion of Australia, and is designed to be played as the Australians, who incorperate some American and British units (I'm hoping to create something like 'Red Front' down-under

)

If you're interested in playtesting this scenario please leave your email adress below, or email me at: nick_dowling@hotmail.com

Attached to this post are two pictures. The first is of all the uniquely Australian units in the scenario. Going clockwise from upper left they are: Matilda 'Frog', AC1 Sentinal,CAC Wirraway and CAC Boomerang.
The second picture is an in-game shot of the Japanese attacking Brisbane.

Its fun so far, but i think you should make the NZ 2nd Div and the Aussie 'desert rats' stronger than the american divisions, because the nz, and aussie are veterens of warfare by this time, also you could inculde SAS units?

Check the stats - they are stronger

(this also reflects the fact the the US divisions were rushed out to Australia before they were fully trained and equiped)

I don't think that the Australian SAS was formed until after WW2, but I'm considering adding commando type units.

BTW, could you tell me what New Zealand had in the way of air and naval forces in mid 1942? Am I correct in thinking that the 2nd Division was the only combat-ready force as teh 3rd division was still training in New Zealand?

I don't know about air or navy, but I think 3rd division was almost ready by the tyme the war begun.

Looks like you're pretty close. This link seems accurate:

In a nutshell, a green brigade-sized cadre occupied Fiji from 11/1940-7/1942. They returned to NZ for reorganization, and in 11/42 underwent advanced training in New Caledonia. Their first action was in the Solomons in 9/43. The 3rd Div was really only two brigades which fought separately. It was disbanded after the Solomons to be used as replacements for the 2nd NZ div in Italy.

I'm enjoying the first turn. If you name it 'Samurais and Kangaroos', I want full credit.
