I bought Civilization V today.
I created a map using the World Builder; I added resources, cities, units, and start points. When I started the game (by finding my map in the advanced set-up menu), I realised that something was very wrong. It was the map I had created, but none of the cities or units were where I had put them. All it had done was to use my map, and ignored the cities and units.
How do I make it so that the cities and units I place in World Builder actually appear in the game? Do I need to convert the map into a scenario? It seems that the map is being used, but everything else is lost. My map doesn't show up in the scenario menu either, which makes me think that I need to convert the map into a scenario.
To be honest, I like a very active game. So I usually set up a map where I have two or three cities with some strong units protecting, and lots of resources. Then I put the difficulty on maximum. If I didn't cheat a bit then I'd get wiped out. But I find the lower difficulty levels too slow and a bit dull. I find this way a nice compromise. I give myself an initial boost, but the other countries soon catch me up.
Thanks in advance!
