So I started playing Civ 4 a while back and it started out fine, then it would crash once every couple hours. eventually it started crashing about once a half hour. The screen would freeze and when I would "ctrl alt delelte" out of the game, the desktop is all distorted and various shades of blue and pink. Well I looked into it I THOUGHT, thouroughly and found somewhere that I should update my driver, and ended up putting a nvidia geforce 7300 LE on the computer. At this time I did not realize that a driver and a graphics card are two different things and dont remember how I determined the compatibility to my computer. This was about a year or two ago. I started playing again with in the last week and was determined to fix the crashing issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the nvidia geforce 7300 LE. Now the game crashes just about every turn and also the display of the computer is all messed up (webpages are huge and when I change the resolution so they fit the screen the text becomes blurry). I tried to determine what graphics card I have on the computer to determine what driver I need but I cant figure it out because it seems like nvidia has taken over and is masking things or whiped them out completely. Can anyone please help?
Thanks

What OS are you running?

Do you still have the disc that you got with the video card? The original drivers will probably work.
Try to go back to the original drivers and see if that resolves your other viewing issues.

Unfortunately the computer came with XP already installed and there were no discs with it...
My dad purchased it from a shop in town and I think it was that guys way of suckering him into always having to go back there because he has no back ups for it. :( Am I out of luck? Is there a way to tell what graphics card it is and then find the driver free online?
thanks

Yes, boot with a linux live cd, start a root shell and there enter "lspci -v". Gfx card model will be listed there. I think there is also a way to do that on windows but don't know of hand sorry...
