Well, my copy of BTS just arrived today in the mail. I installed it and looked in the civilopedia, and none of the 3d graphics show up. In-game all the units etc show up fine, but leaderheads don't. I have never seen this happen before in vanilla/warlords. Otherwise the graphics are fine - better than Warlords, in fact.

Here are some screenshots of what I'm talking about:

Any help is appreciated!

I'm assuming you're running XP.

Start Menu -> Run -> dxdiag

Once it's fully loaded, click the button: 'Save All Information'. It'll give you a choice of where you want to save this information. It's a text file dump of your system specs (DxDiag.txt).

Upload that file to this thread, or attach it in any way you see fit.

I quickly skimmed your dxdiag and everything seems alright.

This is a shot in the dark, but try what this post suggests. Most games state they don't support nVidia FX GPU models. I don't have the BtS box here, so I can't look at the system specs. I don't know off the top of my head if the GeForce FX series are supported by BtS or not.

Well I've downloaded the file he posted but I have no idea what to do after that.

...

OK. The file you downloaded is a self extracting EXE. Run that, and have it create a directory on your desktop.

In that directory is a file named nVHardPageSE.exe.

Run that.

Click on the down arrow next to the DirectX Icon at the top of the program. Select Shader Settings. Click the checkbox for Override Shader Settings. This will allow you to drag the slider bars above that check box. Drag the slider bar for Pixel Shader until it says Pixel Shader: 1.4. Click the button 'Apply Setting Now'.

Run BtS.

EDIT: To be honest, I'm not certain this will help, but at least it's something you can try.

Well, then you've figured out that the program wasn't a fix. Check your BtS system specs on the box. Does it list the graphics cards that'll work with the game?

I was having some problem with BTS after installing to, to fix it I went to the MS website and download the new DirectX Jun07 and get the new driver for my video card best one to get are form the company that made it so if it asus card you go there and look up your card
