Please help with a gotm issue

I just cannot seem to get the game of the match in civ vi to load. windows 11 (unfortunately) also using steam. i've tried plugging the file into the right folder to no end but i can never figure out how to load the game.

When you download the save, it should be placed in the folder: C:\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Saves

You should then start the game and go to Single Player and then Load Game. The GotM Save file should appear as an option to load.
