I am playing Civilization Complete on a LAN with one human opponent as well as computer AIs. The enemy movement is animated so fast that the screen flips back and forth with lightning speed on both human players. The enemy movements and battles are shown but move so quickly we aren't able to see them. We keep losing units left and right but don’t know it until we happen to notice someone is missing.

Since I have Civ Complete, all patches are included so it can’t be that. I do not have CAPS lock on, nor am I pressing any combination of CTRL, SHIFT or ALT. I have ALL the boxes checked in Preferences…animate enemy moves, see battles, etc. I tried unchecking these boxes but then didn't see anything at all, period.

Here is what we are doing:

I go first...make all my moves, and hit END. Player #2 then makes all his moves and hits END. That's when BOTH computers start moving enemy units at mach speed. So neither of us get to see the enemy moves because they are going too fast.

My question is: Do ANY of you out there playing on a LAN with a human opponent and AI opponents get to see enemy moves? If so, please, please reply so I can try and duplicate your game setup, preferences, etc. I am trying to discern whether there is any way to get around this bug.
