Hi,
as I'm rather new to modding, I need hints where to start looking for certain things
.
The mod I'm planning will be safely timed in a rennissance fantasy setting, and only cover a mere 50 years (but Marathon/weeks, so 2.400 turns). Thus, I need to achieve 4 things, and don't know in which file I have to look for those things (or if they even are possible).
1st: I need to reduce the shown and counted numbers of inhabitants of the cities. The largest city in this mod will have 200.000 inhabitants, followed by another one with 85.000. After that all cities are significantly smaller (30.000 and quickly decreasing). So the largest city (33) should be counted as having only 200.000 inhabitants, the next largest (25) should be 85.000, and the others (4-18) should be 500 till 30.000 inhabitants each. So basically I need to all population numbers be based on 10 instead of 1000. Any idea which file holds this information?
2nd: the two or even 3 largest cities ain't self sufficent. Actually this is important, as it will allow for Trantor like scenarios (cutting off the food supplies, causing rapid die offs and unrest). Though to enable this, I need food caravans. I'm sure someone will probably have moded such an unit, but the search function didn't help me here. Any hints?
3rd: Settlers: The map will be mostly settled anyway, but how do I discourage the AI (and players) from swarming the remaining places (northern tundra and southern djungle mostly) with settlers? Is it enough to just make them much more expensive? Or do I have to give other incentives
