Hello. I am a newbie to Civ3, and the Civ series generally.
I need help, and I hope I can get it here.
I started a new game, and started a city. In the population roster I see one human that I have in the city.
My question is, how can I make the population grow?
My city is kind of developed, with baracks, temple etc.

Thanks. :)

You probably need to change the square the person is working on. In the city screen there is a picture of the city radius. Click on any square within it and that citizen will work that square. If you choose a grassland(green square) it should produce 2 food/turn which will cause your city to grow in about 10 turns.

The square you chose to place your city on is very important too. Plains/Grassland = good, flood plain/Wheat/Cows = great, mountain = terrible starting spot for growth in Despotism (your starting government.)

After you place your city, look in the city screen and count the little slices of bread that represent food production. If your size one city starts with less than four (the governor will always by default choose to work a high-food tile first), you should try again in a better spot!

The food goes first to feed the population of the city (2 food per population point), then to fill the food bin for growth (20 food in the bin will make it grow the first time.)

Once you get your city growing, a Granery will make it grow twice as fast. :egypt:
