possible bug and improvement of puppet city

1. not confirmed, but I captured a city and made it a puppet city, then made peace w/ AI whom I captured city with. AI proceeded to put a great general in the city. I eventually annexed the city and the AI general would not move occupying the city and I could not move in a rifleman to garrison.

2. w/o an open border treaty. are AI allowed to roam around my countryside? i had no open border treaties (all expired) but the AI we're roaming around my cities.

3. suggestion for improvement. Can 2k fix the map to show which cities are puppets? It is hard to remember which ones are puppets after conquering a bunch. If you look on the map all cities annexed and puppets all show same color. maybe a different color or something to distinguish annexed cities so I can easily find it later.

4. suggestion for improvement: it's hard to find resources on a standard or large map, overcrowded icon's. Is there a way to search for resources? i.e. search for oil, and it will pinpoint who has it and where.

5. Trade posts, they are littering my landscape as I am constantly running out of gold even with stock exchanges. suggestion, please make trade routes +1 gold when on a road or near coast or river
6. airplanes... suck! I used to like using airplanes to scout, now they don't do that.
7. airplanes have no animation, so i can't see which cities they are based in.. making them useless to me unless i remember.
8. more airplane gripes, no animation when plane searches for air/ground. and I can't see the pathing to the tile limits on planes, so I am unsure how many tiles they can search.
9. weird red splotches/patches on some tiles
10. AI never seems to want to trade without a ton of items from me.
11. weird gold calculation. sometimes I am up 80+ gold w/o a golden age and no trade, then all of a sudden I'm negative gold. I will then delete a worker or unit, and find i am losing more gold on the next turn even without a unit.

13. auto explore units seem to explore the same area. after about 100 turns, my caravels have explored the same spot of open ocean. the old civ iv auto explorer was great.
14. auto explore, ships and units keep trespassing over and over.
15. Diplomacy: why does the AI keep saying I broke my promise when I war against them and have no agreements with them whatsoever?
16. Puppet State BUG, after recapturing stockholm from Japan, I could not liberate the city, but I could liberate 2 other cities from Japan. This was odd.
17. Diplomacy: why is it that when I want to discuss "shall I war on..." to get brownie points with Ai-x, who is being hamstrung by Ai-y, and I would war on them for free. The AI says they won't have it. You would think they would be happy for my help.
18. Why does the AI go on a mad dash to settle crap space with no culture right next to my cities. I had 1 AI settle a finger of a peninsula w/ the city on 1 tile and 1 usable tile, everything else ocean. then get mad that I am settling too close to him.

Canceling "open borders" should work, but a save would help

Save, please. Remember: Open borders can be "one-way" in Civ5. You sure your open border with them had expired, yet theirs' with you hadn't?

There is a little icon under the banner that shows puppets. Would a clearer indication be better?

The strategic view has a resource overlay that can help with this.

Yes - I think gold balance needs work.
