Currently, I'm having an extremely annoying problem which I believe is a bug. Apologies in advance if I'm just missing some game mechanic, or if this bug had been posted before (I didn't see it though), anyway, here's the bug:
During warfare I'll approach an enemy city with a typical defensive bonus, say 60%. Everything is quite normal on the approach, but the moment I have my siege weapons bombard the city their defensive bonus will immediately become 100% and the reduction of the city defenses will be much less than normal. In my current game catapults only reduce 2% and trebs 4%. As you can imagine, trying to take a city from 100 to 0 at 2% makes warfare challenging.
The only non-bug thought I had was that the AI was whipping a castle. But even still, the sudden increase doesn't quite add up.
I'd appreciate any tips or thoughts.
Thanks!
John
