Possible SDK mod request

Hi guys, here is a challenge for you.

The one thing I felt has ALWAYS been missing from Civ is the ability to 'vector' hammers and food (bread) between cities. So a breadbasket city can furnish the needs of a marginal one, and an industrial powerhouse can furnish the needs of a resource poor city. I also think the game would gain from having a means to trade hammers and food between nations.

So the questions are (a) Can it be done? (b) Can it be done in Python, or does it require the SDK? (c) would any of the great modders out there be able to make it into a reality? (d) If no, then would someone be willing to point me towards the part of the code which would allow me to add it?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Aussie, you always have good ideas.
Regarding your questions:
A) I think so
B) Maybe be possible in python, but it will certainly be easier in the SDK
C) I would like to try.
D) ---------------

But what I want to know is:
Should it be possible for the player to choose cities and make it happen OR should the game it self do for the player?

I like the last on the most, because it involves less micromanagment, less coding and a better overview for the player. What do you really want?

Well, I think it could be done in a 'semi-automated' fashion-where a certain % of a city's food surplus will go where it is most needed, but with the option of the player interceeding and sending more-or less. Hammers are a little less cut and dry, but here it could be 'surplus' in terms of 'above average city production'. Alternatively, you could have a manual system, but one you can entrust to a governor (trade excess food/hammers option).
As for international trade, well this would require you to send any and all food/hammers to your Capital-where they can then be traded to other civs.

Oh, another thing is that a direct/unblocked pathway must exist between the giver and the reciever-opening up another potential means of hurting an enemy without directly attacking them-EMBARGOES!!!!
