possible to download with missing installation disc?

i purchased civ 4 after being a die hard civ 3 fan. However i could never play it on either of my computers. Yesterday i recieved a new computer and was ecstatic to finally play civ 4. However, i cannot find my disc 2 (Incorrectly labeled play). Is there anyway that i can somehow install it on my cpu without the disc 2, since i have everything else needed, box included. any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

would it be possible to download the second half from like a 3rd party or have someone send it to me since i am gathering that i only need installation files? I have the play disc (incorrectly labeled install)

Firstly, that sort of thing is not encouraged here (it would be considered a form of piracy which is against all the rules of these forums) so please do not pursue this line of enquiry here any further or you will be taken to task for it by an admin.

Secondly, the game disks have all sorts of copyright protections built in and it is highly unlikely you could ever get a non-original second disk to work even if you tried it. You would be wasting your time.

I suggest you look down the side of your sofa, under the bed, behind your computer desk, inside other CD cases etc. Those are the most likely locations of missing disks in my experience. Pull the place apart, it's got to be somewhere!

While not wanting to encourage piracy at all, if it's anything like some of the games I've encountered, the copyright mechanism will only be on the disc that's actually used to play, which is the one you have. So, conceivably, the second disc may not have any copy protection at all. Also, if he's not trying to bypass any copy protection, is it piracy? Semantics I guess.

In any event it may be worth sending an email to Take 2 - for a small fee they may send you a replacement install disc, which you can then pair up with your play disc for installation.
