I'm mostly a builder, and find myself at a dis-advantage in games where I'm forced into an early war. I've been expanding too much, my defences are weak, and I get stomped on if the AI decides to be aggressive. So, I decided that I'd make myself a map where I'm forced into early combat and test a few strategies. I've created a Tiny map with 13 civs. Each civ starts on an land mass that can support 3 21-tile cities with almost no overlap. You could of course, pack your cities in close and see what sort of difference that makes. Each land mass has 3 luxury resources, and will contain all the strategic resources as well. The land masses are connected at the edges wby areas of tundra, which the AI still insists on populating. This map isn't about fighting for resources, trading luxuries and resources with other civs, or exapnding. It's about taking civs out.

I haven't changed any rules, and the only tweak that was needed was to get 13 civs on tiny map. It's a fun map. I don't think I'd ever bother playing it out to the end, and you'll get your head handed to you in a hat on higher levels because of the extra units that all the sourrounding civs will get will make it almost impossible to survive. Anyway, without further ado, here's a screeen shot of the map. I hope you enjoy it.
