probe team bug

first i wanna say i thought i'm the only person in the world still playing this game so i was really surprised i actually found a working forum for this game.

my problem is that sometimes when i play and send a probe team to sabotage a facility and succeed, the bonuses the base receive from that facility doesn't disappear. for example, i sabotage a base perimeter defense and gets the success message, base control menu show it's gone (using infiltrators), but when i attack base garrison still gets 100% perimeter bonus. the weird thing is that the bug is game dependent, so sometimes i start a new game and the bug doesn't appear for entire game, and sometimes i start a new game and it happens all the time.

any thoughts or ideas on this stupid bug?

Couple of questions: Are you playing Alpha Centauri (SMAC) or Alien Crossfire (SMAX)? Do you have the most recent version of the official patches installed? To check your version, press Ctrl-F4 in game. For SMAC you should see version 5.0, for SMAX version 2.0. If you're not fully patched, you can find the patches here. For SMAC, you want to install the SMAC Win 2000/XP update. For SMAX, install first the preceding update, then the Alien Crossfire 2.0 update. The official patches fix many bugs, so you want to be sure to have them.

If you were already fully patched, or patching doesn't fix the bug, then please post a save file that demonstrates the problem. You can find instructions about attaching files in our FAQ, which I suggest you read even if you already know how to attach files.
