Problem with display Cities names and size no showing

Ok, I had Civ 4 working (but it was slow). My graphics were fine. I recently re installed my windows xp (just wanted to clean up the computer). I re installed civ, got the patch. But NOW when I play the game plays fine, but my display is odd. It is playable, but the cities names are just a blur. ALso the part that tells you the size of the city and what it is working on is not readable. Just another blob there.

I can play the game, but makes things a bit difficult.

Any suggestions?

When you reinstalled XP it probably used an old version of the driver for your video card. I would try getting the latest driver and see if it fixes this.
