I can no longer get online while playing Civ or even after I close out of Civ. I can load my browser but it won't connect to any sites. When I restart or shutdown I get a Windows popup about "Net Broadcast Event" not closing out and that it will close the program automatically.

This has only happened recently since I reinstalled Civ 4 and updated the video drivers. I can't take a screenshot of the error message because it only occurs as the system is shuting down.

I'm running Windows 2000 Professional. I have unistalled the NET Frame software and reinstalled it but the problem persists. Problem happens with both Firefox and IE.

Any thoughts or comments? Let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks

Hvae you tried reinstalling Civ4?

I got that with .NET 2.0 but not with 1.1, maybe backwards. Try uninstalling, then install the other.

Thanks Lahdoz.

Installing version 2.0 seems to be working, atleast I can get online with Civ open.

Does ATI have any known issues with .NET 2.0 and their control panel stuff? I know there are somethings meant to work with 1.1 that get unhappy with 2.0.

what are you guys on about needing the .NET framework installed??

It is also required to run Civ Assist2 which is a very good ingame utility and can be used with the GOTM series.

I'm using an ATI card and since loading Net 2.0 I'm not having any more problems.
