A wonderful post indeed. Have you considered updating it after G+K though? Many of the issues have in fact been addressed, although it remains to be seen how well those solutions were implemented.

for the insta gold vs resource trade, to avoid people break it:
if you trade 4 luxuries for 30 turns vs 1000 gold, and break the deal after 6 turns, you have to reimburse 800gold. (1000-1000/30/6)
