So a few days ago I reinstalled Civilization IV because it wasn't loading. When I uninstalled it I didn't uninstall the patches because I didn't want to redownload those (I don't know if that helps in my problem). So when I reinstalled it I went to play online but when I tried to login my computer froze and I had to restart. I did this again another time and it froze again. Everything else seems to be working fine.
Problems Playing Online

- Your previously downloaded patch may be in \My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization IV\Patch\
- Copy it somewhere else. Anywhere you can find it again.
- Uninstall the game completely. There is a thread from earlier today with the "how to" if you have questions.
- Reinstall the game and apply the patch to the fresh installation (either downloaded or from that copy of the patch, if you found it).
