Ok I had installed the first version of the latest patch. On win98, it was stable, but I did have that problem where the lines disappear from the foreign advisor screen. So I saw that there was a second version of the .exe file released in a later patch. I downloaded it. Since installing it, I have this problem where I get black boxes near my cities after coming from the advisor screens. Its very, very annoying.
Also, I had my first crash ever with this new patch, just 15 or so minutes into running the game...that isnt encouraging. What is worse, 4 of the 5 autosaves were corrupted with some type of bug so that I couldnt load them. Is there a save problem with games started in the first new patch being loaded under the latest new patch?
