I can`t get CIV3 to work!!!
It worked fine earlier, but I had to reinstall it because I changed the letters on my drives. My DVD-rom was H: earlier, now it`s E:
After reinstalling I downloaded and installed the newest patch v.1.17f.
I already had v.1.16
Then the problems started.
I read in the sticky about problems people have had with this patch but thought nothing more about it since I`ve had no problems earlier.
But, when I started the game the writing was completely screwed up, nothing was in the correct place on the startmenu. Exactly the same problem that others have had.
OK so I tried deleting every font that Windows would let me. but that did not work. It`s exactly the same as before. I enabled smooth fonts, but that did not work.
I also decided to try and play with the writing wrong but then I got this error
CIVILIZATION3 caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:fff95337.

I`ve tried to reinstall it five times now.
Deleted everything with Infogrames Interactive, Firaxis and Civ 3 in the registry.
One install without any patching.
One install with v.1.16
One install with v.1.17f
Installed with smooth fonts enabled when installing.
And finally tried with smooth fonts disabled.
Nothing helps.
Please can anybody help me
