So I've got a few colonies around the jungle, mainly to stop the bloody Aztecs from settling there, and set a few workers round there on automated (The Shift-A one), because I really hate clearing Jungle. So I leave them be for ages, and then come back, and see all the squares they've cleared for me have been Shield squares! (Marked in yellow) I then decide to clear one for myself (Marked in red) and promptly get a crappy non-shield grassland square.
My question is, do these workers know what's underneath and are picking off the best squares to clear? It certainly seems odd.

Try to clear the other squares as well, and see how many of them contain shields.
