Quality of life improvements I'd love to see:

1) Trading with the AI:

I want to QUICKLY see how much each civ is willing to offer (for a resource, diplo favor, etc). It's painful and time-consuming to do this check manually and going 1 by 1 with every leader. Instead, I wish you could see this info with one click. Like you click on a resource, and a screen pops up with every leader's offer, so you can quickly compare nd decide for who to sell.

2) Border expansion:

First, for the love of God, DON'T suddenly change your mind on which tile you're growing to next, it messes the plans and wastes gold. Second, I think the player should be able to choose which tile he'd like the city to grab when the border expands naturally. I'm fine with the fact that it won't grow to the 3rd ring before it gets all the tiles in the 2nd ring, that makes sense. However, say I have EXACTLY the same tiles on the edge of my border, like flat plains with wheat on it nd both are within the 2nd ring, but one is to the south and the other is to the north, I should be able to direct the city's border expansion towards the one I prefer. Why not?

3) Better production Queue, allowing tier1 & higher tier buildings simultaneously:

Say I have researched all the techs and unlocked everything. I have a commercial hub with no buildings in it. I want to build a market and a bank using the production Q, but currently, you can't do that. You'll have to wait until the market is finished before you can tell the city to build the bank. Why can't I queue BOTH on the same turn? This way when it finishes the market it will automatically start working on the bank. This really makes life easier when you have a lot of cities to manage, especially when playing domination.

Definitively big agree on the production queue. When they announced the multi-queue I thought it sounded great, but ended up never using it because not being able to queue up related buildings is just too dumb. Like, why would the game check the building-requirements when the building enters the queue and not when it reached 1st position? makes no sense.

Option for auto-target and fire for Fortified Ranged Units and City Attacks. If you have a lot of ranged units holding a defensive position, all the aiming and firing can be incredible tedious.

Ability to mark certain commodities “no trade”, so you don’t have to keep rejecting AI trade offers for things.

Prompt to remind you whether you want to renew a trade deal or friendship / alliance.

Ability to delete everything in the production queue in one go / click.

Automated ranged attacks: I'd still want to choose my targets, say you have 5 enemy units in range, I appreciate leaving that choice for me : )

No trade: Agreed. And also an option to automatically reject demands. When everyone hates you they keep demanding gold from you..like I'm never gonna comply so might as well stop bothering me with that : )

Prompt reminder: You do get a notification about expiring friendships and alliances. Renew trade deals? Install the mod "Custom Notifications", it will give you a notification when a trade deal expires. You might also like "Policy Change Reminder". Both available on steam. I also like "Better Reports". Purely UI mods with no effect on gameplay

Clear prod Q with 1 click: Wouldn't hurt. For me what I'd really like is the ability to clear all notifications with 1 click. Late game every turn you'll get a ton of notifications on the right and it's annoying to clear them 1 by 1, a small "clear all" button there would be helpful.

I agree with everything mentioned so far. Particularly the prompt reminder for trade deals. And sure, mods are great, but ideally I'd like to see this in an official patch.

More off the top of my head:

- A better trade screen. Although the window that pops up on the left hand side of the screen is sortable by gold, faith, civ, etc... that only shows the available routes for the city that the selected trader is in. The available routes screen that pops up on the right does show all available routes for all cities (though for some reason, it often doesn't show routes from my capital - I think that's a bug), but it's not sortable. I'd like to know at a glance how to maximize my gold through trade.

- A preview of how switching out policy cards will affect my yields. At a glance, am I making more money through Triangular Trade or Free Markets? Rationalism or Natural Philosophy? I often have to take stock of all of my cities before deciding and it's a pain.

- Related to the above, a preview of yield changes when switching out governors. The screen will tell us how loyalty changes, but I'd like to know exactly where to put Pingala to maximise my science or tourism without looking through each city. And Reyna's particularly difficult when you're trying to maximise gold. When she's fully promoted, you're looking at each city's population, how many unmodified features it has in its borders, checking the adjacency bonuses of your commercial hubs and harbours, and trying to figure out if there are any trade routes "passing through" your territory (that's the worst because it is literally impossible to be sure until she's established five turns later).

- An upgrade all units button. Pretty sure Civ 5 had it. Or maybe it was Civ 4. Can't remember. But rather than hunting down each of my archers individually and upgrading them to crossbowmen, I'd like to be able to do it with the click of a button. Of course, it should prioritize units with higher promotions if you don't have enough gold or resources to upgrade them all in one go.

- A warning when a rival unit is within your territory. I'm not concerned so much about rival combat units because I usually have a ranged unit on alert that will spot them, but missionaries and apostles can be sneaky, particularly when you have a large empire. It would also be nice for the game to warn you that the enemy has amassed a bunch of units near your border. I get that for (I assume) balance reasons, you can't tell the AI to move their troops or force them to declare war, but it would be nice to at least have a little advanced warning.

- Just bring back the Civ 4 diplomacy web screen where you could see who was on good terms with who, and who hated who, all in one glance. (Hell, most of my post can be summarised as "bring back the Civ 4 UI - it was perfect. Why did you change it Firaxis? Why?!"

- When an AI makes you an offer, allow the player to minimise the trade screen and assess the situation before accepting or declining, much in the same way that you can when voting on World Congress resolutions. Sure, you can always try trading with them on your turn, but sometimes that offer's no longer on the table.

Install the UI mod "Better Reports". You'll get EXACTLY what you described, under the "policies" tab. I also wish these QOL improvements were officially patched instead of us having to use mods just to get better info
