Question about disorder

Hi, i just recently got civ 3, doing fine apart from one thing. My cities, especially the capital always goes into Civil Disorder because of "overcrowding".....

How can i stop this from happening and counter it if it does..

Use the City Governor. Set the option to manage happiness to Yes. The governor does a good job of keeping the cities out of civil disorder.

There are several things you may do to prevent civil disorder:

Build temples, cathedrals and colloseums.

Build wonders that reduce unhappiness, like Oracle, JS Bach's Cathedral and Cure for Cancer.

Turn some of the citizens into entertainers (by clicking on one of the worked tiles in the city management screen). You may let the city governor handle this.

Use some of your income to provide the people with luxuries (in the domestic advisor screen).
