Question about resources

Still a little confused... So i don't have to collect the resources to my city like in Civ4? how come it does not show anywhere what kind of resources I have, except for the limited amount of strategic resources? Thanks.

no you don't have to. you can see your happy resources if you hover over the happy icon on the top bar.

Thanks that's very helpful. I do need to connect every single trading post though, right?

Nothing needs to be connected (via roads) except for your cities to the capital (produces income).
