Question about Unit Graphic Mod

Hello. I stopped trying to mod Civ 5 a year ago because the Nexus tool doesn't work. I followed instruction from a certain thread here (I don't remember which one, but I remember there was a picture of a dragon in that tutorial thread) to try to import my models into Civ 5, but it didn't work at all.

A year has passed, I wonder if there was any progress /update regarding the tools to do such a thing. If so, would anyone so kind would point me to specific instructions / tutorials to do so.

The steps are the same as they were back then; the instructions in those tutorials work just fine. I'm not saying it's a fast and easy process, but I've converted quite a few Civ4 models over. There are no new tools for conversion, unfortunately, so it's still a lot of work.
