Question

i havent played the series before but have heard good things and plan to get the game soon. What i want to know is should I buy GCI to get some experience playing the series or go straight for the latest game GCII. I have played Civ and other strategy games for years will that help?

GCI is already very old (for a game), so I would suggest you go straight to GCII. The learning curve isn't very steep, so you will be fine.

I would recommend picking up the Gold Edition. That will give you both Gal Civ II: Dread Lords, and the Dark Avatar expansion.

Thanks for the advice just one more question though will the graphics card i have on my PC run GCII, it is a 128MB ATi Radeon X300 SE.

I'm running it on a 9600 with no problems.

You shouldn't have a problem with that card. I was running a Radeon 9800 128mb up until recently, and it ran fine.
