Questions on pet behaviour....

And drawers and closet shelves and so on. It's partly curiosity, and partly that they just enjoy being in snug enclosed spaces due to that kittenish comfort thing.
Or it's a a good place for an ambush. You can survey things from it, and eventually pounce on something preferably small and furry. (If it's my bunch of overgrown kittens anything that moves works just as well. Ants, spiders etc...)

Why do all cats love to eat plastic (the soft crinkly kind that would be shrink wrapped on a dvd, for example)? The other day my new cat ate a bunch of plastic wrapping, I couldnt stop him in time. I waited for him to keel over but he looked ecstatic like he just had a juicy steak. What the hells that all about?
Dunno 'bout all cats here. Mine don't go for plastic.

OTOH one of the little blighters eats wool. Chewed her way clean through a nice sweater once. But has since then stopped after being diagnosed with a mild case of asthma and given treatment.

I.e. she was chewing the stuff because of other problems. It's a form of cat self-medication — something amiss, go chew something. Usually it's grass that cats need to deal with the fur balls. If they can't find grass, they'll eat your potted plants. And if it doesn't do the trick, they can decide to eat you socks to see if it helps.

So I'd actually recommend you look into the diet your cat keeps. Got any potted plants at home? If so, has it been nibbling these? If you don't have any, maybe get some precultivated cat-grass and see if it drops the plastic for it?

Or maybe it's just a cat with weird interests. There are those around as well.:crazyeye::)

My cat loves boxes. Whenever I buy something that comes in a box I leave it out there for her to play in. Likes toilet paper too. She does one thing that really baffles me though. She comes inside to use the litter box. Then goes back outside. Its not like we have a yard. There's nothing outside but forest. I find this really amusing.

Another thing my cat does that's too funny is 'flopping'. Whenever she knows she's in trouble, she'll drop to the ground and turn over so that her belly is showing. I've heard that its supposed to be a sign of submission, but when she does it it looks more like "you can't be mad at me! I'm so cu-u-u-ute!!!" :crazyeye:

Clever screen name, btw Are you a masquinongy?
Right back at you, and I'm a displaced esox lucius.

My little dog also does the flopping thing. He's a male and I think he shows me his junk to say, "Mad at me, are you? Well here's what I think of your opinion"

I doubt its diet related, he eats like a champ.

Cats love boxes (especially if the opening is on the side rather than the top) because it replicates a den. Dogs are the same way.

Flopping is usually a sign of submission.
