One problem that is more bothersome than connection errors is the people that quit when doom is near. (often just one city!)
U fight all game long, figuring out where , when ect. get it right and then ...ur opponent quits.
In particular, when someone has a expansionist civ with a later then ancient UU -and u attack them (if u don't u will lose)-
their precious "leave me alone and i'll win " strategy fails and they run off. I hunt such players now. I want them to leave.
I will force them to leave, everytime. If they had stayed I would not feel as such, however, the die is cast. Continue to quit, it may be ur best strategy. Definately not of Spartan-at-thermoplea , or Americans at Alamo material.
Another matter is the "strange". In Homers "the Illiad"
Zues comments , that humans are strange in that they bring much of their problems on themselves-even contrary to fate- and then blame the gods for it" I suggest most problems are because of the players , not the game. Computers and connections have always been touchy, still are-and this is something u expect and work with. But the players.....?...
be thankful when u meet some that are able to win or lose without acting like a 5 year old that can't have his/her way.
More common than i would have ever suspected-and I apologise to the 5 year olds out there that have more grace and nobility than many older....
