I am playing a game on lan with three friends. imo, there is no hope for my teams victory. I don't want to waste time dragging a game out but they still want to play. can I just have the cpu take control of my civ or something?

Online games are fun are always fun at first, but they can boring very very fast. I tend to just 'rush' my opponents. haha.

In short, ask your freinds. It's their response, and give a reason for doing so. Instead of just saying 'this is dumb, let's play something else'.

Wait, but when you said 'there is no hope for team's victory'; does that mean you're losing? If you know you won't win, I suggest kamikazee with another freind to attack another civ.

But yes, you CAN replace yourself or anyone else for a computer.

Quite frankly I feel that Civ is not a good multiplayer game. PBEM gets boring real fast, too much time in between turns. Also, I don't have the time to sit through a long multiplayer game. It seems that I'm doomed to playing mostly single-player. At least I can play the game at my own pace, and save the game and walk away whenever I want.

Multiplayer is my fav type of game of Civilization by far. I would of been so disapointed if there was not a multiplayer option on Civ 3. Its all down to experince i guess, ive never played a game that sucks so i guess im lucky. I wouldnt give it all up tho just after a couple of not so good games.

A solution is the quick civ scenario. To reduces tech/unit/building cost and gives bonus resources per tile.
