Which gov. should we take?

  • Monarchy

    Votes: 24 44.4%
  • Republic

    Votes: 30 55.6%

  • Total voters
    54
Grey Fox should be the tie breaker if it comes to that. Here's my reasoning:
  1. This was Grey Fox's poll (posted by Chieftess at his request).
  2. A Council Member has the power to break ties in the polls dealing with their department. As there is no department specifically charged with selecting the government type this falls under the Executive Branch until defined otherwise.
    [/list=1]

It looks like it won't matter in any case. A late voter surge has put Republic in front by a few votes.

How about a blurb in the constitution that says something to the effect of, "as the changing of the type of government is a major change, an obligatory stamp of approval by the cabinet must follow the polls and the cabinet must vote in accordance with the polls". Simply a bureaucratic step to insure the populace that everything is above board. They are the President's Cabinet and should be recognized here.

I like this idea. Bureaucracy rules!!

Bureaucracy also slows things down immensely!:( Especially when cabinet votes cannot be completed before the next turn chat. And in this instance our anarchy is almost over and we must pick a form of government before the next turn chat.

Drat! You've seen through our dastardly plans.

Seriously though - You're right that there's no way to implement this for this turn. It would work in a well planned revolution though.

Ok, i think that the Rublic would be better. I have maintained a war for 100s of years while in a Repulic, however I build a temple in every city an' if thing get bad in a city I put in a collesium or a cathedral:eek:.

I haven't voted on the poll though because I have not visited this site for a while (had some important stuff to do;)). i'm off to check if in my absents from the War Cabinet things have gone...well wrong!

The best goberment is republic, good taxes, good war weariness and sustentable

Nice bump. :) I'm suprised it's still going on. Of course, this was before I knew you could set a limit for the number of days it can be up.
