Railway

I bought steam power of one of the other civs in my normal fully patched civ3 game. But i can't see any coal on the map anywhere. The other civs are building railways lines but i cannot. Even though I have all teh techs needed (i think)

Any ideas?

attack your enemies chances are they all somehow built there cities on that resourse

Maybe use the ctrl-shift-m and ctrl-shift-n keys to looks at what's under the cities.

With ctrl-shift-n go and select hide cities.

Use Ctl-shft-M to remove all cities & improvements. Then search for coal. This way you will know which AI Civs to attack.

Nope done all that and there is no coal on the entire map that i can see but people are still building railroads. Maybe its a bug when you buy steam power? it doesn't work?

Which version are you using?

Perhaps you could post a save so that some of us could take a look?

Are you sure you got steam?

Check the F6 screen.

Double-check the clear map settings.

If someone is building railroads, then there is coal & iron out there. The AI can't just build anything without the proper resources/tech - keep looking.

this happend to me one time i was playing with babylon and i got steam power as a free tech and i had no coal so i bougt from aztecs but i coud not buildl rail and i could not see it on a map even with ctrl-shift-m it was nowhere to be found and aztecs had two (in diplo screen) and my boght coal was showing in the strategic res box. finaly when the 20 turn deal ended i bought it again ad then i coud see it (on the map) and build rail i realy think this is a bug
Btw i was playing 1.22 c3c
ps:i'm an emperor player so it is not a newbie mistake
