Chieftain
Hello everyone,
I've been a long-time reader, first time poster. I recently downloaded the Civ5 SDK (World Builder, Nexus, Mod Buddy) because I am wanting to make some maps where people don't start all crowded together. While I love the random map features built in, I am frustrated by the necessity that everyone always seems to start within 2-4 cities distance of each other.
The editor seems pretty straight forward and I was able to make a map, randomize resources (goodies and barbarians included), randomize natural wonders and even chose a balanced placement of city state and player start locations. I used the "edit plot" feature to add "random city state" for the city states and "random player start" for the players. At first I thought everything was good to go and I wouldn't have noticed anything if my nephew hadn't also started play-testing my map.
The problem is that regardless of choosing "random civ" or a specific civ, the player always starts in the same spot on the map! I am wanting the player to randomly start in any one of the starting locations I have placed. Is there any way to do this? I can't seem to find anything on this and placing a specific starting location is easy... but I can't seem to find anything for a "random" player starting location....
