Random Starting Locations in Civ5 World Builder

Hello everyone,

I've been a long-time reader, first time poster. I recently downloaded the Civ5 SDK (World Builder, Nexus, Mod Buddy) because I am wanting to make some maps where people don't start all crowded together. While I love the random map features built in, I am frustrated by the necessity that everyone always seems to start within 2-4 cities distance of each other.

The editor seems pretty straight forward and I was able to make a map, randomize resources (goodies and barbarians included), randomize natural wonders and even chose a balanced placement of city state and player start locations. I used the "edit plot" feature to add "random city state" for the city states and "random player start" for the players. At first I thought everything was good to go and I wouldn't have noticed anything if my nephew hadn't also started play-testing my map.

The problem is that regardless of choosing "random civ" or a specific civ, the player always starts in the same spot on the map! I am wanting the player to randomly start in any one of the starting locations I have placed. Is there any way to do this? I can't seem to find anything on this and placing a specific starting location is easy... but I can't seem to find anything for a "random" player starting location....

Amazing! Thank you so much... not only for the fix but it gave me some possible insight into some other oddball "randoms" I've noticed in Civ5.

Still odd that they chose that scripting for random start locations instead of a complete random shuffle, but alas... my game design/programming knowledge is "beginner" lol.

Thanks again!
