All I want to to is use my Stealth Bombers and bomb the Persians back to the Stone Age and rid the plant of their filth. But I am SICK OF REBOOTING EVERY OTHER TURN and having the screen pause for 2 minutes every 2 minutes!

J.... F...... C.....!!

Here is another post which links to that same thread which has the changes that I found took away about 90% of my CTD issues. I still get the odd crash, especially when alt-tab to desktop or whatever, but not the every 2nd turn problems I had before.

Hey, on another thread in this forum dealing with memory leaks, a member named The_Kangaroo posted some changes he made to his .ini file. It's the last message on page 13:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showth...137706&page=13

These are the changes:

AllowScreenShots = 0
SyncInput = 1
D3D9Query = 1
LoggingEnabled = 1
---------------

I just scrolled through the .ini file until I saw each of those things and changed them, but you could just use the "find' - probably easier! I just wanted to see what else was in there though : )

edit: I seriously hope they can fix problems such as this with the game in an upcoming patch...

I made these changes and it seems to be better. (I only played 45 min)
Thanks for the info!

I'm glad. However, even with these changes I still get some problems, just not as frequent. I'd recommend delving back into the .ini file and changed the autosave from 4 to 3 or 2 turns - that way you don't lose as much time if it crashes.

If you can please email Take2/Firaxis with what your problem was and that this helped - hopefully they can work out where a lot of the problems are and fix it in the next patch.
