Perhaps a stupid question :
Is it possible to raze a city of your own ?

In Civ2 you could build a settler when your city was small and after confirmation it vanished. This does not function in Civ3 (at least I think so  ).
Is there another way?
Thx for reply.

Try rush build a city improvement while in despotism, it reduces the poppulation by one, havent tried when its 1. Or try to starve the city by putting all the citizen in to enterntainment, or tax collector, than sell all improvements. I will try this at home.

There is two way to remove a city.

First:
You need to rush a settler. A settler needs to population with the same race, e.g. two Chinese or two India; you cannot build a settler with one India and one Chinese combination.
Example.
Your race is Chinese. You conquered an India city of three. You have to reduce the population to two India before rushing a settler. If you have a conquered city of one India city then you have to get a India worker from somewhere to add to this city to make the population to two before rushing for settler.

Second:
The other way is to sell/give it to other nation, declare war and re-conquer the city and raze it.

Didn't think of that, nice strategy, how about rushing a worker when the pop is 1? Instead of trying to build it to 2 pop. A worker is worth 1 pop.

:(
I had try it, it do not work. The production will wait unit the population grow to two before creating the worker.

I must agree with you that selling/giving the city to other civ is bad move and great impact to your reputation, but it is one of the possible way. I do not use it too if possible.;)

The only way i've found is to abandon the city. You have to build a settler when you only have one or two population points left AND what most of you have benn missing the city has to either be starving or at least not growing. that means there must be no surplus food
Easy
