Hello there.

I have, a while ago, bought a QuickConnect qc5000 cable modem.

It is working fine as far as surfing the web goes. But now, I finally traced some problems I have always had with P2P software to a configuration problem in its internal settings. It is set as a router.

Only that, in a very badly performed format of the drive a year or so ago, I lost the file in which I recorded the administrator login and pass.

I heard I could "reset" it through an re-install, but apparently, I have lost the CD driver, so I also can't do that.

To make it worse, the website www.quickconnect.com.br is down, apparently, for good, so I can't get support.

Can anyone here point me out to the international manufactorer, so I can get some support, or at least to some place in the web where I can get an ISO image of this model's install CD and burn it to virgin media?

Regards :).

Typically modems and routers will have a reset button somewhere on them. Hold it in for about 30s with the device powered on.

If you actually end up needing the firmware though... I dunno, try a google search. There are quite a few results but its slow going for me finding anything since they're practically all in Portugese(?). ;) Apparently this thing is only sold in Brazil.

Edit: This thread seems to give a support phone number for the company, but it's 6 months old and may be no good if they've folded...
