Are there editors/trainers for civilization that would allow you to edit the saved game files or other files?

Use the search function of the forums and you'll find that there is an editor for the DOS version.

yes I tried the search functions, thanks.....



found nothing except a windows editor, which does me no good. A link would be nice....

Go to the downloads section of this site and there are Civ1 editors.

Also when you use the search function you get a list of threads, in some the function of these editors is discussed.
